7 LONG TITLE
8 General Description:
9 This bill requires of the Division of Professional Licensing to provide certain model
10 contracts.
11 Highlighted Provisions:
12 This bill:
13 < requires that the Division of Professional Licensing:
14 C create one or more model contracts for use in residential construction and
15 residential remodels;
16 C hire an experienced attorney to assist in drafting each contract; and
17 C post each contract on the division's website.

26 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
27 Section 1. Section 58-55-107 is enacted to read:
28 58-55-107. Model contracts for new construction and remodels.
29 The division shall:
30 (1) create one or more sample new residential construction and residential remodel
31 contracts for public informational purposes only;
32 (2) when creating a sample contract described in Subsection (1), engage an attorney
33 with at least 10 years' experience drafting and reviewing residential construction contracts to
34 advise and assist the division in creating the sample contract; and
35 (3) post each sample contract on the division's website.
36 Section 2. Effective date.
37 This bill takes effect on May 1, 2024.
