    Tlaib, Mr. Thanedar, Ms. Scholten, Mr. Bergman, and Mr. James) 
submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee 
                   on Oversight and Government Reform

                               RESOLUTION


 
Recognizing the State of Michigan's contributions to the United States 
         on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the Union.

Whereas, on January 26, 1837, Michigan became the 26th State of the United 
        States;
Whereas Michigan and its residents embody the ideals of the Founding and have 
        significantly contributed to the success and advancement of the United 
        States;
Whereas July 4, 2026, is the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration 
        of Independence; and
Whereas the 250th anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on the Founding 
        of the United States and the lasting impact that Michiganders have made 
        on the United States since its entrance into the Union: Now, therefore, 
        be it
    Resolved, That the House of Representatives--
            (1) recognizes the 250th anniversary of the signing of the 
        Declaration of Independence;
            (2) encourages all United States citizens to reflect on the 
        ideals of the Founders and their fight for independence; and
            (3) celebrates the enduring impact that Michiganders have 
        made on the success of the United States.
