I53Commending and congratulating the Las Vegas Aces professional basketball team on winning the 2025 Women's National Basketball Association championship.

I27Whereas, on October 10, 2025, the Las Vegas Aces basketball team (referred to in this preamble as the ``Aces'') won the 2025 Women's National Basketball Association (referred to in this preamble as the ``WNBA'') championship;
I27Whereas the Aces previously won back-to-back WNBA championships in 2022 and 2023;
I27Whereas the Aces were in danger of missing the postseason altogether, starting the regular season at 14   0914, then went on a 16-game regular season winning streak, setting a new franchise record and tying the second-longest winning streak in WNBA history;
I27Whereas the Aces finished the regular season 30   0914 and the playoffs 9   093 with series victories over the Seattle Storm (2   091), Indiana Fever (3   092), and Phoenix Mercury (4   090) in the first ever best-of-seven WNBA Finals;
I27Whereas Aces center A'ja Wilson became the first WNBA player in league history to win the WNBA Most Valuable Player (referred to in this preamble as ``MVP'') (her fourth MVP), Defensive Player of the Year, and Finals MVP in the same season;
I27Whereas Aces guard Chelsea Gray now holds four WNBA championship titles and as of the end of the 2025 season has the most championships among all active WNBA players;
I27Whereas Aces Head Coach Becky Hammon guided the team throughout a turbulent regular season to secure her third championship in only four seasons as head coach;
I27Whereas every member of the Las Vegas Aces organization, including players, coaches, and support staff, contributed to the team's success during their 2025 WNBA championship run;
I27Whereas the ownership of the Aces has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing women's sports, investing significantly in the Aces organization, facilities, and staff; and
I27Whereas the Aces represent their loyal fans, the Las Vegas community, and the entire State of Nevada with a commitment to excellence: Now, therefore, be it

I22(1) congratulates the Las Vegas Aces on winning the 2025 Women's National Basketball Association (referred to in this resolution as the ``WNBA'') championship;
I22(2) recognizes the Aces for_
I24(A) the team's perseverance and dedication in bringing the 2025 WNBA championship title back to Las Vegas, Nevada; and
I24(B) the achievements of all players, coaches, and staff who contributed to the success of the Las Vegas Aces during the 2025 season; and
I22(3) respectfully requests that the Secretary of the Senate transmit an enrolled copy of this resolution to_
