To amend the National Science Foundation Authorization Act of 2002 and 
the Research and Development, Competition, and Innovation Act to repeal 
   cost-sharing with respect to the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship 
                    Program, and for other purposes.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Boosting the Rural STEM Pipeline 
Act''.

SEC. 2. REPEAL OF COST-SHARING WITH RESPECT TO THE ROBERT NOYCE TEACHER 
              SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM.

    (a) In General.--Section 10A of the National Science Foundation 
Authorization Act of 2002 (42 U.S.C. 1862n-1a) is amended--
            (1) by striking subsection (i); and
            (2) by redesignating subsections (j) and (k) as subsections 
        (i) and (j), respectively.
    (b) Conforming Amendments.--Section 10320 of the Research and 
Development, Competition, and Innovation Act (42 U.S.C. 18998) is 
amended--
            (1) in subsection (a)--
                    (A) by striking ``requirements'' and inserting 
                ``requirement'';
                    (B) by striking ``forthe'' and inserting ``for 
                the''; and
                    (C) by striking ``and under'' and all that follows 
                through ``are'' and inserting ``is''; and
            (2) in subsection (b), by striking ``waivers'' each place 
        it appears and inserting ``waiver''.
