                                 A BILL


 
    To amend title 18, United States Code, to increase the criminal 
penalties for assaulting, resisting, or impeding an officer or employee 
              of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Protect and Respect ICE Act'' or the 
``PRICE Act''.

SEC. 2. INCREASED PENALTIES FOR ASSAULTING, RESISTING, OR IMPEDING ICE 
              OFFICERS OR EMPLOYEES.

    Section 111 of title 18, United States Code, is amended--
            (1) by redesignating subsection (c) as subsection (d); and
            (2) by inserting after subsection (b) the following:
    ``(c) Enhanced Penalty for Violations Against ICE Officers or 
Employees.--In the case of a violation of subsection (a) committed 
against an officer or employee of U.S. Immigration and Customs 
Enforcement, the applicable maximum term of imprisonment under this 
section shall be doubled, and the applicable maximum fine shall be 
adjusted accordingly.''.
