Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SERVICEMEMBERS CIVIL RELIEF ACT: PREEMPTION OF SQUATTERS' RIGHTS. (a) Preemption.--The Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (54 Stat. 1178; 50 U.S.C. 3901 et seq.) is amended by inserting, after section 301, the following new section: ``SEC. 301A. PREEMPTION OF SQUATTER'S RIGHTS. ``Any State law establishing squatter's rights shall not apply to premises-- ``(1) owned by a servicemember; and ``(2) occupied by a squatter during a period of military service of such servicemember.''. (b) Clerical Amendment.--The table of contents in section 1(b) of such Act (50 U.S.C. 3901(b)) is amended by inserting after the item relating to section 301 the following new item: ``301A. Preemption of squatter's rights.''. <all>
