R. 8865 To nullify Executive Order 14072 and prohibit the Secretary of Agriculture and the Secretary of the Interior from implementing, administering, or enforcing such Executive Order or any substantially similar executive order. _______________________________________________________________________ IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES June 27, 2024 Mr. LaMalfa (for himself, Mr. Newhouse, and Mr. Tiffany) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Natural Resources, and in addition to the Committees on Agriculture, Foreign Affairs, and Ways and Means, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned _______________________________________________________________________ A BILL To nullify Executive Order 14072 and prohibit the Secretary of Agriculture and the Secretary of the Interior from implementing, administering, or enforcing such Executive Order or any substantially similar executive order. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SEC. 1. NULLIFICATION OF EXECUTIVE ORDER 14072. (a) In General.--Executive Order 14072 (87 Fed. Reg. 24851) shall have no force or effect. (b) Prohibition on Implementation.--The Secretary of Agriculture and the Secretary of the Interior shall not-- (1) implement, administer, or enforce any rule or regulation issued for the purpose of carrying out Executive Order 14072 (87 Fed. Reg. 24851) or any substantially similar executive order; or (2) develop, finalize, or issue a rule or regulation for the purpose of carrying out Executive Order 14072 or any substantially similar executive order. (c) Prohibition on Taking Proposed Actions.--The Secretary of Agriculture shall not-- (1) finalize the environmental impact statement No. 20240110 included in the Forest Service notice entitled ``Land Management Plan Direction for Old-Growth Forest Conditions Across the National Forest System'' (89 Fed. Reg. 52039 (June 21, 2024)); or (2) take the proposed actions included in such notice or any substantially similar actions. <all>
