 To amend title 38, United States Code, to authorize the provision of 
 certain additional burial benefits for individuals for whom an urn or 
              plaque is furnished, and for other purposes.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Ensuring Veterans' Final Resting 
Place Act of 2024''.

SEC. 2. DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS PROVISION OF ADDITIONAL BURIAL 
              BENEFITS WHEN COST OF URN OR PLAQUE IS REIMBURSED.

    Section 2306(h) of title 38, United States Code, is amended--
            (1) in paragraph (2), by striking ``If the Secretary'' and 
        inserting ``Except as provided in paragraph (3), if the 
        Secretary'';
            (2) by redesignating paragraphs (3) through (5) as 
        paragraphs (4) through (6), respectively; and
            (3) by inserting after paragraph (2) the following new 
        paragraph (3):
    ``(3) Paragraph (2) shall not apply with respect to an urn or 
plaque furnished under paragraph (1) on or after January 5, 2021, if a 
non-Department entity reimburses the Secretary for the cost of the urn 
or plaque.''.
