RES. 1301 Expressing support for the inaugural Heart Recovery Awareness Day on February 20, 2025. _______________________________________________________________________ IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES June 14, 2024 Mr. Moulton submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce _______________________________________________________________________ RESOLUTION Expressing support for the inaugural Heart Recovery Awareness Day on February 20, 2025. Whereas cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death both globally and in the United States; Whereas one-third of all global deaths in 2021 were caused by a cardiovascular condition; Whereas cardiovascular disease accounted for 12 percent of total United States health expenditures from 2018-2019; Whereas heart recovery, which preserves the native heart, is a burgeoning field of medicine; Whereas heart recovery will positively impact Medicare resources through reduced hospital expenditures, reduced length of hospital stays, and fewer repeat hospital visits; Whereas heart recovery is increasingly helping patients live longer and fuller lives with their native hearts intact; and Whereas February 20, 2025, is designated to observe Heart Recovery Awareness Day: Now, therefore, be it Resolved, That the House of Representatives supports-- (1) the goals of Heart Recovery Awareness Day; (2) increasing awareness of innovative treatments available to patients with cardiovascular disease; (3) improving outcomes and quality of life for patients with heart failure; and (4) expanding access to treatments that change the standard of care for heart failure, such that all Americans regardless of age, gender, or geography can have an opportunity to preserve their native heart. <all>
