                                 A BILL


 
  To amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to treat food for 
  human consumption as adulterated if it contains high-fructose corn 
                                 syrup.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Stop Spoonfuls of Fake Sugar Act of 
2024''.

SEC. 2. NO FOOD CONTAINING HIGH-FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP.

    (a) Adulteration.--Section 402 of the Federal Food, Drug, and 
Cosmetic Act (21 U.S.C. 342) is amended by adding at the end the 
following:
    ``(j) If it is food for human consumption and contains high-
fructose corn syrup.''.
    (b) Delayed Applicability.--Section 402(j) of the Federal Food, 
Drug, and Cosmetic Act, as added by subsection (a), applies beginning 
on the date that is 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act.
