A BILL
To require the United States Postal Service to implement
recommendations from the Inspector General of the United States Postal
Service for decreasing instances of delayed mail, improving staffing,
and training, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``Rural Mail Improvement Act''.
SEC. 2. REQUIREMENT FOR THE POSTAL SERVICE TO IMPLEMENT CERTAIN
RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE INSPECTOR GENERAL.
Not later than one year after the date of the enactment of this
Act, the United States Postal Service shall review and, to the extent
practicable, implement the recommendations of the Inspector General of
the United States Postal Service with respect to delayed mail,
staffing, and training in the report by the Office of the Inspector
General of the United States Postal Service entitled ``Delivery in
Northern Minnesota'' (Report Number 24-048-R24) and dated May 6, 2024.
