Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Halt Hate Act of 2024''. SEC. 2. PREVIOUS HATE CRIME ACTS. Section 249(a)(1)(B) of title 18, United States Code, is amended-- (1) in clause (i), by striking ``or'' at the end; (2) in clause (ii), by striking the period at the end and inserting ``; or''; and (3) by adding at the end the following: ``(iii) the defendant has previously been convicted of an offense under this paragraph or has been convicted of committing a State felony offense because of the actual or perceived race, color, religion, or national origin of any person.''. <all>
