He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, where he trained as an aviation machinist and contributed to the war effort aboard the USS Kenneth Whiting. After his military service, he married Santos Vela and raised five children while pursuing various occupations, including work with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Rio Grande City Independent School District.
The resolution acknowledges Mr. Bazan's remarkable life, highlighting his dedication to family and community, as well as his resilience and optimism throughout his century-long journey.
