This resolution honors the collective efforts of first responders, government officials, volunteers, and donors who came together to support the town of Gordon following a devastating EF-1 tornado that struck on May 18, 2025. The tornado caused significant damage, impacting 31 homes and the Gordon Independent School District facilities, leading to the cancellation of classes for the remainder of the school year. Fortunately, emergency crews were able to provide medical care, and no lives were lost, with only minor injuries reported. The community received an outpouring of support from various organizations and individuals who contributed to relief efforts, including local businesses, churches, and school districts.
