The resolution commemorates the Global Encounters Festival, which took place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from July 20 to 27, 2025. Organized by the Ismaili Muslim community in collaboration with various UAE organizations, the festival aimed to promote tolerance and coexistence through the arts and sports. It marked the first simultaneous staging of the Jubilee Arts and Jubilee Games, attracting 4,000 artists and athletes from over 50 countries and drawing an audience of more than 25,000 visitors. The festival featured a diverse array of activities, including art exhibitions, film screenings, music and theater performances, interactive workshops, and sports competitions across 17 disciplines, emphasizing fair play and teamwork.
Additionally, the festival demonstrated a commitment to sustainability, achieving zero-waste targets and utilizing 100% renewable energy sources. It also supported the Roots for Change campaign to plant one million trees globally. The Global Encounters Festival operates across three main domains: Youth Leadership and Development, Arts, Culture, and Heritage, and Sports and Fitness, showcasing the importance of these areas in fostering empowerment and environmental stewardship. The resolution expresses appreciation for the efforts of the over 3,000 volunteers who contributed to the festival's success and honors the event as a celebration of unity and service.
