Jean Bonner was married to Jim Billie Bonner Jr. and was a devoted mother to their two sons, Buck and Biff, as well as a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an active member of the Ward Prairie Baptist Church, where she contributed by teaching Sunday school and hosting church gatherings.
