The resolution honors Tommy Aldridge, the former head coach of the Longview High School girls' basketball team, for his induction into the Texas High School Basketball Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2025. Coach Aldridge founded the Longview girls' basketball program in 1978 and achieved remarkable success, including over 900 victories, 25 district championships, 16 regional appearances, and three state tournament trips. His most notable achievement was leading the Lady Lobos to a perfect 39-0 season and a state title in 1984. Throughout his 32-year tenure, the team only missed the playoffs twice, and he consistently maintained a high level of performance.

In addition to his accomplishments at Longview, Coach Aldridge also had a successful stint at Union Grove High School, finishing with a 59-33 record over three years. Overall, he boasts an impressive coaching record of 967 wins and 213 losses across 35 seasons, achieving a winning record in every season. The resolution expresses the Texas Senate's congratulations to Coach Aldridge for his contributions to high school athletics and his induction into the Hall of Fame, along with best wishes for his future endeavors.
