The resolution commemorates the 75th anniversary of St. John's Episcopal Church in Carthage, which will be celebrated on September 21, 2025. The church was founded on July 29, 1950, by Pastor John W. Fritts, initially meeting in an abandoned theater with a small group of charter members. Over the years, the congregation grew and moved to a garage apartment before constructing a sanctuary in 1951, which was dedicated the following year. The church has since expanded to include a parish hall and an education wing, and it successfully paid off its debts by 1961. Currently, Pastor Jennene Laurinec leads the congregation, which has established various programs to foster fellowship and assist those in need.

The resolution acknowledges the significant role St. John's Episcopal Church has played in the spiritual lives of many Carthage residents and honors the church's contributions to the community. It expresses the Texas Senate's best wishes for the future of the congregation and directs that an official copy of the resolution be prepared for the church as a token of high regard.
