Mr. Caldwell had a fulfilling career in the newspaper and hospital industries, retiring in 2003. He was passionate about motorcycles, baseball, and football, but most importantly, he cherished time with his family and his Boston terrier, Buddy. His strong faith and monthly lunches with high school friends were also significant aspects of his life.
The Texas Senate expresses its condolences to Mr. Caldwell's family, including his wife Linda, his children Eddie, Kathy, and Pamela, as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
