The Senate of the State of Texas has passed a resolution recognizing the Bethune Woman's Club for its 80 years of dedicated service to the Brazos Valley community. Originally founded in 1945 as the Negro Woman's Club, the organization has maintained its mission to support recreational, civic, and charitable initiatives in the region. Named after Mary Jane McLeod Bethune, a prominent African American educator and civil rights leader, the club has evolved over the decades, with its current home at the North Bryan Community Center established through community efforts in 1990.

Under the leadership of its eighth president, Mattie Robinson Carter, the Bethune Woman's Club has continued to thrive, sponsoring scholarships and hosting various community events such as a fall festival and a Debutante Ball. The club has also focused on enhancing digital literacy among local residents, contributing significantly to the betterment of the community. The resolution commends the members for their commitment and extends best wishes for their future endeavors, with a copy of the resolution to be provided as a token of esteem from the Texas Senate.
