Born on June 11, 1949, in Athens, Texas, she was the daughter of Sam and Lora Ruth Beasley and grew up with two brothers. After graduating from Mansfield High School and completing cosmetology school, she worked as a hairstylist in the Mansfield community before moving to Longview. In 1989, she married Terry Bewley, and together they raised two children, Charis Barron and the late Chad Horton, along with two stepchildren, Jennifer Hicks and Tim Bewley. Ruth Ann was also a proud grandmother to Madison and Camden.
Ruth Ann Bewley had a fulfilling career at Cloud's Food Service, where she worked for 32 years alongside her brother. She enjoyed traveling with her husband in their Mooney aircraft and was known for her love of hosting family barbecues. The resolution expresses deep condolences to her family, including her husband, children, grandchildren, and other relatives, acknowledging her dedication to her loved ones and the lasting impact she had on their lives. The Texas Senate will prepare an official copy of the resolution for her family and will adjourn in her memory.
