Irene Michna was an active member of the Taylor community, contributing her time and talents to various organizations, including the Old Settlers Association, the Taylor Main Street Advisory Board, and the Williamson Museum. She played a significant role in reviving the Taylor International Barbecue Cookoff and was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in Taylor. Recognized for her generosity and kindness, she received multiple honors, including two Taylor Press Reader's Choice Volunteer of the Year Awards.
