The Senate of the State of Texas has passed a resolution recognizing the Austin County 4-H Livestock Quiz Bowl team for their remarkable achievement in winning the Western National Roundup championship. The team, consisting of Bellville High School juniors Katelyn Krenek, Madilyn McCullough, Darcy Luedke, and Katie Schumann, showcased their dedication and teamwork by successfully competing at the national level after rigorous training and advancing through district and state contests. Their coaches, Janet and Rodney Melnar, played a significant role in guiding the team to this prestigious victory.

In addition to the championship title, individual accolades were awarded to team members, with Madilyn McCullough earning the champion high point individual award and Katelyn Krenek receiving the fourth high point individual award at the national contest. The resolution expresses the Senate's congratulations to the team and their coaches for their hard work and commitment to excellence, and it extends best wishes for their future endeavors.
