Senate Resolution No. 685 recognizes the outstanding achievements of Pleasant Grove High School in Texarkana, which excelled at the Spring National High School Journalism Convention held in Seattle from April 24 to 26, 2025. The school’s newspaper, The Edge, received the prestigious Pacemaker Award and the Golden Crown Award for the sixth consecutive year, along with a Gold Star award at the UIL Interscholastic League Press Conference. Additionally, the yearbook, The Hawk, was honored with Best of Show at the national convention and also received a Gold Star award. The resolution highlights the leadership of advisor Charla Harris, who was awarded the 2025 Linda S. Puntney Teacher Inspiration Award, and acknowledges the contributions of the student editors.
