The resolution recognizes Pleasant Grove High School in Texarkana for its outstanding achievements at the Spring National High School Journalism Convention held in Seattle from April 24 to 26, 2025. The school’s newspaper, The Edge, received the prestigious Pacemaker Award and the Golden Crown Award for the sixth consecutive year, along with a Gold Star award at the UIL Interscholastic League Press Conference. Additionally, the school's yearbook, The Hawk, was honored with Best of Show at the national convention and a Gold Star award at the ILPC. The success of these publications is attributed to the leadership of advisor Charla Harris, who was awarded the 2025 Linda S. Puntney Teacher Inspiration Award, and the dedicated efforts of the student staff.

The resolution expresses the Texas Senate's congratulations to Pleasant Grove High School for their accomplishments and extends best wishes for their future success. It highlights the hard work and commitment of the students and staff, which has brought pride to their school and community. An official copy of the resolution will be prepared for the students as a token of recognition from the Texas Senate.
