Born on August 11, 1961, in Tyler, Texas, Laura was the daughter of Randy and Sarah Parker and grew up alongside her sister, Mary. She graduated from Brownsboro High School in 1979 and pursued higher education at Southwestern Assemblies of God University and The University of Texas at Tyler, earning degrees in business and education. Laura married David Tedford on March 20, 1981, and together they raised two children, Drew and Lauren, and welcomed five grandchildren into their family.

Laura Tedford dedicated much of her early life to her children before beginning her teaching career at Chandler Elementary School in 1992. She also obtained a real estate license and worked with her family at Crestview Properties. A lifelong member of Chandler First Assembly of God, Laura was known for her patience, generosity, and strong convictions. The resolution expresses heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends, acknowledging the lasting impact she had on those who knew her. The Texas Senate adopted this resolution on June 1, 2025, to commemorate her life and contributions.
