The resolution honors the life and memory of Laura Ruth Tedford, who passed away on November 18, 2021, at the age of 60. Born Laura Parker in Tyler, Texas, she was raised alongside her sister Mary and graduated from Brownsboro High School in 1979. She furthered her education at Southwestern Assemblies of God University and The University of Texas at Tyler, earning degrees in business and education. Laura married David Tedford in 1981, and together they raised two children, Drew and Lauren, and welcomed five grandchildren. She dedicated much of her early life to her family before becoming a teacher at Chandler Elementary School in 1992 and later working in real estate.

The resolution reflects on Laura's character, highlighting her patience, generosity, and strong faith as a lifelong member of Chandler First Assembly of God. It acknowledges her love for leisure activities such as playing dominoes and visiting the beach. The Texas Senate expresses its condolences to her family and friends, recognizing the lasting impact Laura had on those around her. An official copy of the resolution will be prepared for her family, and the Senate will adjourn in her memory.
