Born in Dallas on December 24, 1931, Dr. Muns had a distinguished academic background, earning degrees in psychology and education from various institutions, including a doctorate from Texas Woman's University. She was married to James Muns for over seven decades and was a devoted mother to four children, as well as a grandmother and great-grandmother to many.

Dr. Muns was a prominent figure in her community, establishing a private practice in marriage and family therapy in Plano in 1978. She actively contributed to numerous organizations, including serving on the boards of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano and the Plano Symphony Orchestra, among others. Her dedication to her community earned her accolades such as the 1995 Plano Citizen of the Year and the Leadership Plano Distinguished Leadership Award in 2013. The resolution expresses heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends and calls for an official copy to be prepared in her memory.
