H.R. No. 1475 is a resolution recognizing the Texas Book Festival (TBF) as it celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2025. Founded in 1995 by Texas First Lady Laura Bush and a group of dedicated volunteers, the festival has grown into one of the most prestigious literary events in the nation, attracting over 40,000 attendees each year. The festival features more than 250 authors, along with various activities such as author presentations, book signings, and cooking demonstrations. Additionally, TBF hosts the First Edition Literary Gala and the Lit Crawl afterparty, further enriching the cultural landscape of Texas.

Beyond the annual festival, the Texas Book Festival is committed to promoting literacy and supporting public libraries through year-round initiatives. Programs like Reading Rock Stars and Real Reads connect acclaimed authors with students, while Texas Library Grants provide funding to enhance library collections. Over its three decades, TBF has donated over 188,000 books to Title I schools and contributed more than $3.6 million to public libraries. The resolution expresses the Texas House of Representatives' congratulations to TBF on this significant milestone and extends best wishes for its future endeavors.
