The resolution commemorates the 35th anniversary of OutYouth, a nonprofit organization based in Austin that supports LGBTQIA+ youth. Founded in April 1990 by Lisa Rogers and Jay Erwin-Grotsky, OutYouth has evolved from meeting in living rooms and libraries to its current location, the Little Blue Bungalow in North Central Austin. Over the years, the organization has served more than 40,000 young people and their families, providing essential programs such as the first toll-free suicide hotline for LGBTQIA+ youth, mental health counseling services, and the Texas Gender & Sexuality Alliance Network.

The resolution highlights OutYouth's commitment to inclusivity and empowerment for LGBTQIA+ youth, recognizing its significant contributions to the community over the past three and a half decades. It expresses the Texas House of Representatives' sincere best wishes for the future of OutYouth and directs that an official copy of the resolution be prepared for the organization as a token of high regard.
