Dr. Lucas held various leadership roles at Good Shepherd Medical Center and contributed to the field of obstetrics and gynecology through his involvement with professional organizations. Even after retiring in 2007, he continued to serve the community through local health centers.

In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Lucas was a devoted family man, married to his high school sweetheart, Sara Ann Skaggs, with whom he had three children.
