The Senate of the State of Texas has passed a resolution recognizing the Port Neches-Groves High School Unified track and field team for their remarkable achievement in winning the 2025 Unified Track and Field University Interscholastic League State Championship on April 25, 2025. Unified track and field, a collaborative program under the University Interscholastic League and Special Olympics Texas, promotes social inclusion by allowing students with and without intellectual disabilities to train and compete together. The resolution highlights the team's dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship, celebrating their accomplishments and the positive impact they have made in their community.

As the only school in the area with a Unified team, Port Neches-Groves serves as a role model for other schools to adopt Unified sports, fostering leadership, connection, health, and shared achievement among all students. The resolution expresses pride in the team's efforts and recognizes the support of the students, coaches, and faculty at Port Neches-Groves High School, as well as the surrounding communities. The Senate extends its congratulations to the team and wishes them continued success, with a copy of the resolution to be prepared as a token of esteem from the Texas Senate.
