The association plays a crucial role in enhancing the operation and management of Texas water districts through education, advocacy, and unification. It serves as a platform for utility directors to discuss industry challenges, stay informed about developments affecting water operations, and share ideas to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

With over 1,000 members, including representatives from water and utility districts, consulting firms, and suppliers, the association has significantly contributed to the economic growth and development of communities in Texas. The Senate resolution recognizes the efforts of all individuals involved in the association's success over the past fifty years and extends congratulations and best wishes for the future to its board of trustees, advisory council, members, and staff. A copy of the resolution will be provided to the association as a token of esteem from the Texas Senate.
