The resolution commemorates the achievements of the Judson Early College Academy (JECA) Class of 2025, who made history during their College Signing Day Celebration on May 1, 2025. This event allowed the 86 seniors to publicly sign letters of intent to their chosen colleges, collectively earning nearly 800 scholarship offers and over 1,100 acceptances. Notably, this class is the first since the academy's inception in 2009 to have all members graduate with an associate's degree with distinguished honors from Northeast Lakeview College. Their graduation ceremony from the college took place on May 15, with their JECA graduation scheduled for May 27.
The resolution highlights the perseverance of the Class of 2025, who navigated an academically challenging curriculum while overcoming obstacles such as administrative changes and the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to their academic success, the students engaged in community service, part-time work, and various extracurricular activities. The resolution acknowledges the support of their educators and expresses congratulations and best wishes for their future endeavors, emphasizing the bright prospects that lie ahead for these young Texans. An official copy of the resolution will be prepared as a token of esteem from the Texas House of Representatives.
