The resolution honors Rishi Tirumalasetty, a seventh-grade student from Katy Junior High School, for his outstanding achievement at the Texas State Finals of the National Civics Bee held on May 17, 2025. The National Civics Bee, organized by The Civic Trust under the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, aims to enhance civic literacy among middle school students through various assessments of their knowledge in American history, government, and civic participation. Rishi qualified for the state finals after securing second place at the Katy Area Civics Bee and went on to win first place at the state level, earning him the opportunity to represent Texas at the National Civics Bee Championship in November.

The Texas House of Representatives expresses its congratulations to Rishi Tirumalasetty for his remarkable accomplishment and acknowledges the pride he brings to his family and school. The resolution also includes a provision for an official copy to be prepared for Rishi as a token of high regard from the Texas House.
