The resolution congratulates Cody C. Campbell on his election as chair of the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents, a position he assumed on April 14, 2025. Appointed by Governor Greg Abbott in April 2021, Mr. Campbell has held various roles within the board, including vice chair of the Finance & Investments Committee and the Carr Foundation Board of Trustees. His extensive background includes service on the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and the Texas Tech University Rawls College of Business Advisory Council, as well as involvement with several organizations such as the Texas Public Policy Foundation and All Saints' Episcopal School of Fort Worth.

A fourth-generation Texas Tech alumnus, Mr. Campbell holds degrees in finance and economics and a master's degree in finance from the university. He was also a four-year letterman on the football team and played in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts. Currently, he serves as co-CEO of Double Eagle Energy Holdings and is actively involved in charitable work through Double Eagle Charities. The resolution expresses the Texas Legislature's best wishes for Mr. Campbell's success in his new role, highlighting his commitment to advancing the goals of higher education in Texas.
