The Senate of the State of Texas has adopted a resolution to recognize The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) and to celebrate The University of Texas at Arlington Day at the State Capitol on April 17, 2025. Founded in 1895, UTA has transformed from a private primary school to a prominent research university, currently serving over 41,000 students across nine colleges with 180 degree programs in critical fields such as health care, engineering, and big data analytics. The university is noted for its rapid growth and has achieved Research 1 status, contributing significantly to the national economy through impactful research and innovation.

As UTA commemorates its 130th anniversary in 2025, the resolution highlights the university's ongoing commitment to academic excellence and workforce development, particularly with the recent groundbreaking of its new west campus. The university's alumni have generated substantial economic contributions, amounting to $28.8 billion annually. The Senate extends its best wishes to the visiting delegation from UTA for a meaningful visit to Austin, acknowledging the institution's enduring legacy and transformative impact on higher education.
