Senate Resolution No. 397 honors the life and legacy of Peggy Ann Koski, who passed away on December 9, 2024, at the age of 92. Born in Marianna, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Andrew and Verna Green and grew up with two sisters. Peggy attended Blue Mountain College and later the University of Mississippi, where she met her husband, Onnie R. "Rudy" Koski. Together, they raised five children and moved frequently due to Dr. Koski's career with the Veterans Administration. Peggy made history as the first woman elected to the city council of Derby, Kansas, and enjoyed a successful career as a realtor in Memphis. She was known for her love of the arts, particularly dance and opera, and was affectionately called "Mama Kitty" by her children's friends.

The resolution expresses deep sympathy to Peggy's family, including her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, acknowledging the cherished memories she left behind. It highlights her strong faith, her involvement in her community, and her long-standing membership in the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. The Texas Senate officially adopted the resolution on April 14, 2025, and it serves as a tribute to Peggy's vibrant life and the impact she had on those around her.
