House Concurrent Resolution No. 129 commemorates the 100th anniversary of Austin Oaks Church, which was originally established as the Swedish Evangelical Free Church of Austin on August 16, 1925. The church has a rich history, having transitioned from conducting services in Swedish to English in the late 1930s and relocating several times before settling at its current campus in southwest Austin in 2002. In 2014, the church adopted its present name, Austin Oaks Church, and continues to thrive under the leadership of lead pastor Brandon Zieske and executive pastor BJ Forguson, offering a variety of ministries and outreach programs to its congregation.

The resolution acknowledges the significant role Austin Oaks Church has played in the spiritual lives of generations of Texans and expresses appreciation for the dedication of its members and pastors over the past century. It extends best wishes for a meaningful celebration of this milestone and directs that an official copy of the resolution be prepared as a token of esteem from the Texas Legislature.
