The resolution honors the fourth-grade students of St. Mark's School of Texas in Dallas during their visit to the State Capitol on April 10, 2025. It highlights the school's rich history, which began in 1906 with the establishment of The Terrill School for Boys by Menter B. Terrill and his wife, Ada. The school underwent several transformations, becoming Cathedral School for Boys in 1946 and merging with Texas Country Day School in 1950 to form St. Mark's, a nonsectarian, college-preparatory institution for boys in grades 1 through 12.
St. Mark's School is recognized for its commitment to providing a well-rounded education that includes physical, intellectual, moral, and religious training. Currently serving over 900 students, the school offers a variety of challenging programs in the sciences, arts, and humanities, along with numerous opportunities for student involvement and leadership. The resolution acknowledges the school's significant contribution to the academic foundation of young Texans over its 119-year history and extends best wishes to the students for their future endeavors.
