The resolution recognizes April 15, 2025, as Ismaili Day at the Texas State Capitol in honor of the Shia Ismaili Muslim community, which consists of approximately 15 million members across more than 35 countries. The Ismailis are led by His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan V, the 50th imam, who continues the legacy of his father, Aga Khan IV, in addressing global issues such as economic inequality, education, health care, and environmental sustainability. The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) plays a significant role in this effort by establishing various institutions, including schools and health centers, aimed at improving the lives of people regardless of their background.

The resolution highlights the Ismaili community's commitment to responsible citizenship, pluralism, and fostering peace and understanding. It acknowledges the contributions of Ismailis in Texas, who actively engage in charitable work and community service. The Texas House of Representatives extends its best wishes to the visiting Ismaili delegation, hoping they have a memorable experience in Austin.
