Additionally, the bill specifies that applications for new campuses or sites will be considered by the State Board of Education, with a default approval mechanism unless a majority votes against the proposal within 90 days. It also allows charter holders to submit applications up to 36 months in advance and stipulates that applications will only be reviewed during even-numbered years. The bill repeals certain existing provisions related to charter applications and establishes that the new rules will apply only to applications received after the effective date of the Act.
