Senate Resolution No. 277 honors Dr. Gene Getz for his service as Chaplain of the Day for the Texas Senate on March 19, 2025. Dr. Getz has had a significant impact on church planting since 1972, founding the Fellowship Bible Church movement, which has resulted in the establishment of numerous congregations across the nation, particularly in the Dallas area. He is the president of the Center for Church Renewal, a nonprofit he established in 1978, and serves as pastor emeritus of Chase Oaks Church in Plano. In addition to his pastoral work, Dr. Getz has authored over 60 books, including the widely used Life Essentials Study Bible, and produces a daily radio broadcast titled Bible Principles.
