The bill proposes the designation of a segment of U.S. Highway 67, located in Dallas and Ellis Counties, as the "Eddie Bernice Johnson Memorial Highway." This designation will apply to the portion of the highway between its intersections with U.S. Highway 287 and Interstate Highway 20. The bill adds a new section, Section 225.243, to the Transportation Code, which outlines the specifics of this designation and states that it is in addition to any other existing designations.

Furthermore, the bill mandates the Texas Department of Transportation to design and construct markers that indicate the highway's new designation, as well as to erect these markers at both ends of the highway and at appropriate intermediate locations. The provisions of this Act are set to take effect on September 1, 2025, and it is noted that the 89th Legislature intends for any new provisions added by this Act to be renumbered to avoid duplication.
