S.B. No. 2569 amends the Government Code to modify the reporting requirements for law enforcement agencies regarding their use or operation of unmanned aircraft. Specifically, it requires state, county, and municipal law enforcement agencies with populations over 150,000 that have used unmanned aircraft in the past 24 months to post a report about their usage on their publicly accessible Internet website. If an agency does not have a website, they must make the report available to the public through other means. The previous requirement to issue a written report to the governor, lieutenant governor, and members of the legislature has been removed.

The bill stipulates that these reports must be made available not earlier than January 1 and not later than January 15 of each odd-numbered year. The act will take effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds vote from both houses; otherwise, it will take effect on September 1, 2025.
