S.B. No. 2334 amends the Alcoholic Beverage Code to expand the storage capabilities of alcoholic beverages for holders of a passenger transportation permit. The bill allows these permit holders to store alcoholic beverages in sealed containers of any size not only at airports they regularly serve but also within the same county and within five miles of those airports. This change is intended to provide greater flexibility for airlines in managing their alcoholic beverage inventory.

The bill also maintains the existing provisions that permit the sale or service of alcoholic beverages on commercial passenger airplanes, even when flying over areas where such sales are prohibited. The new regulations will be effective starting September 1, 2025, pending approval.
