The resolution recognizes March 3 and 4, 2025, as Golden Triangle Days at the Texas State Capitol, celebrating the proud residents of Beaumont, Port Arthur, Orange, and surrounding communities. This region, known for its rich natural resources and historical significance, has evolved from an active riverport to one of the largest refining and petrochemical hubs in the world, particularly following the discovery of oil at Spindletop in 1901. The Golden Triangle is home to approximately 340,000 residents who benefit from distinguished educational institutions and a variety of environmental tourism sites, historical attractions, and cultural landmarks.
Since 2007, local chambers of commerce have collaborated to advocate for the interests of the Golden Triangle during Texas Legislative sessions, with Golden Triangle Days serving as a platform for citizens to foster business relationships with state officials. This year's event will see representatives from various cities, including Beaumont, Bridge City, and Port Arthur, come together to celebrate their rich history and work towards a brighter future. The resolution expresses the House of Representatives' best wishes for a rewarding and memorable stay for the visiting delegations in Austin.
