The resolution recognizes the Weatherford Independent School District (ISD) for being designated as a CTE District of Distinction by the Career and Technical Association of Texas. This prestigious honor is awarded to only 38 school districts in Texas and acknowledges exemplary leadership, innovation, and commitment to student success in career and technical education (CTE) programs. Weatherford ISD's CTE offerings include 13 career clusters that provide students with hands-on learning experiences and internships, preparing them for the workforce and positively impacting the community. Notably, the district launched the Grizzard Regional Institute of Technology (GRIT) in partnership with Weatherford College, allowing students to earn a high school diploma, industry credentials, or an associate's degree at no cost.
The resolution expresses the Texas House of Representatives' congratulations to Weatherford ISD for this significant achievement and commends the CTE Department for its exceptional efforts in engaging and motivating students. It also extends best wishes for the continued success of the district and its programs. An official copy of the resolution will be prepared as a formal expression of high regard from the Texas House of Representatives.
