H.R. No. 350 is a resolution honoring Nelson Linder for his 25 years of dedicated service as president of the Austin chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). Born in Macon, Georgia, and a veteran of the U.S. Army Signal Corps, Linder moved to Austin in 1981, where he pursued a career in the insurance industry after earning a degree in personnel management and industrial relations. He is a descendant of one of the original Black legislators in Georgia and has continued his family's legacy of civil rights advocacy by founding the Garvey/Allen/Washington Project in 1992 to promote social justice.

Throughout his tenure, Linder has been a prominent advocate for the Black community, addressing issues such as police brutality, educational equity, and economic advancement. His efforts have garnered national recognition, and he has played a significant role in initiatives like the African American Quality of Life Initiative and the African American Resource Advisory Commission. Additionally, he has engaged the community through his radio show, "Wake Up Call (Empowerment Mode)." The resolution expresses the Texas House of Representatives' admiration for Linder's contributions and wishes him continued success.
