Born in Castellon, Spain, García began playing golf at the age of three and quickly established himself as a top amateur, winning numerous prestigious titles. He turned professional in 1999 and made an immediate impact on the sport, securing multiple tournament victories and earning a top-20 ranking in his rookie year. Over the years, he has accumulated 11 PGA Tour titles, 16 European Tour titles, and holds the record for the most match victories in Ryder Cup history. Notably, he won the Masters Tournament in 2017 and was named the European Tour Golfer of the Year.

In addition to his athletic accomplishments, García is recognized for his philanthropic efforts through the Sergio & Angela Garcia Foundation and FORE Kids ATX, which have raised nearly $5 million to support healthcare and services for children and families in Central Texas.
