The bill amends Section 25.082 of the Education Code to enhance the display requirements for the pledges of allegiance to the United States and Texas flags in public school classrooms. It mandates that the United States and Texas flags be prominently displayed in accordance with federal and state regulations in each classroom where students recite the pledges. Additionally, the text of both pledges must also be prominently displayed in each classroom.

Furthermore, the bill clarifies that school districts and charter schools are not required to use federal, state, or local funds to acquire the flags or displays mandated by the new provisions. Instead, they may raise funds or accept donations to meet these requirements. The changes will take effect starting with the 2025-2026 school year, and the bill will become effective immediately if it receives a two-thirds majority vote in both houses; otherwise, it will take effect on September 1, 2025.
