The Senate of the State of Texas has adopted a resolution to honor the memory of Victor Lee Morriss, who passed away on October 16, 2024, at the age of 71. Born on February 11, 1953, in Fort Stockton and raised in Talco, Morriss excelled in sports during high school as a star quarterback and continued his football career at Texas Christian University and The University of Texas at Arlington, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business. He had a successful career as a sports agent and later as a commercial superintendent with Lincoln Builders, while also building homes in Granbury with his wife, Dani.
Morriss was known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and dedication to serving others, actively participating in Harvest Church where he taught children and led a senior citizens' group. He enjoyed outdoor activities and traveling with his wife. The resolution expresses heartfelt condolences to his family and acknowledges the lasting impact of Morriss's kindness and perseverance on those who knew him. The Texas Senate will adjourn in his memory, and a copy of the resolution will be provided to his family as a token of sympathy.
